Glade Spring located in southwest Va. off Exit 29 from I-81.  Glade Spring has a population of 1,576 according to the 2010, the greater Glade Spring area population is around 4,500.  Glade Spring has a rich history which contributes and is supported by several sister communities.  Saltville, Va., which was connected by the only spur line, at the time, from the Va. & Tn. Railroad.  Emory, Va. also located nearby is home to Emory & Henry College, a private liberal arts school.
